Bad-luck Burglar Caught In the Act, Twice
November 8, 2011
After a weekend of bad luck 52-year-old Peter Studley is behind bars. A short-lived burglary spree has the thief facing two counts of burglary and criminal mischief and one count grand theft. Not only was he caught red-handed twice, but Studley also cut himself after breaking a window. If that wasn’t incriminating enough, he was also captured on a security system camera.
The spree began in the manager’s room at a hotel where Studley had been staying for the past month. As he was rummaging through his possessions the manager walked into the room and caught him in the act. He made a grab for the thief but Studley was able to escape through a window.
Afterwards Studley broke into a nearby van, cutting his arms in the process. Before he could take anything inside, the van’s owner came over and Studley fled once again. Unfortunately for him, he left behind enough blood evidence for police. Two hours later he was spotted walking down a street carrying jewelry and money from the first burglary. Police took him into custody and his bail has been set at $10,000.
